CrossCurrents – Easter Sunday

Our CrossCurrents contemporary worship service was filled with smiling faces of all ages as we joined together in celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord. Lively music and a wonderful message by our pastor, Dr. Dan Sansbury, combined with the witness of our children in bringing forward their One Great Hour of Sharing collections of coins in their “fish banks” made for a very special time together in worship.
CrossCurrents welcomes new faces in worship each Sunday. If you prefer a more informal, casual setting and atmosphere and contemporary music, CrossCurrents may be just what you are seeking. Join us Sunday mornings at 9 am and stay for refreshments, fellowship and learning
opportunities at 10 am.
Holy Week Services
Holy Week Services
We continue our journey with Jesus through the season of Lent in our Holy Week services. Join us in sharing the passion and the promise of this special time in the church year which will culminate in a glorious celebration on Easter morning.
Thursday, April 1 – Maundy Thursday service will begin with dinner in the Commons at 5:30 pm. Call 877-8527 for meal reservations by Tuesday, March 30th. The service will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
Friday, April 2 – Good Friday service will begin at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary as we remember our Lord’s sacrifice for us.
Sunday, April 4 – EASTER MORNING. Two services will celebrate the resurrection. CrossCurrents, our contemporary service will begin at 9:00 am in the Commons. Our traditional worship will begin at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. Participants in both worship services are invited to the “flowering of the cross” prior to both the services. The flowering will take place outside near our sign. Please bring your flowers or branches from flowering trees. Flowers will be provided for those who do not have flowers with them.
Bible Study on Daniel
The book of Daniel contains fascinating stories of how God protected this faithful prophet. Rev. Bud Little will lead us in a study of the adventures of the stalwart “Mr. Israel” and the times in which he found himself. We meet Tuesdays at 10:30 in the Robinson Room.
New Look for CrossCurrents
A dramatic new look gives an entirely different “feel” to the Commons on Sunday morning. The CrossCurrents team invites you to come and see and, more importantly, come and worship God giving honor and praise to the One who is the creator, redeemer and sustainer of the world.
We gather each Sunday morning a few minutes before 9 am for refreshments and fellowship with the service following. Afterwards, Rivermont offers time for fellowship and many learning opportunities for all ages.

11 AM Traditional Worship
Visitors to Rivermont will experience many friendly faces and a welcoming spirit at our traditional worship service at 11 o’clock each Sunday morning. A worshipful space combined with faithful proclamation of God’s word and beautiful music by our chancel choir both challenge worshippers to offer praise to God and to grow in faith and comfort those who may be in need of God’s grace and healing.
Each service offers a time for gathering in the word, proclaiming the word, and responding to the word. But, of course, the Good News we hear is not only for our own blessing, but to be taken out into the world to be shared.
All ages are welcome in worship. Each service offers a “Time with the Young Disciples” led by the pastors and other worship leaders. The children ages 4- second grade may then be dismissed to “Godly Play” (Please see our Children’s Ministries pages for more detailed information about this highly popular program.).
During the church year, many special services are also planned: Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services; All Saints Day, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve communion services and periodic Services of Healing and Wholeness.
We welcome your visits and your questions about Rivermont. Please call 877-8527 for more information.
